Using this utility may not be easy for a usual computer user. Especially when it comes to booting to Windows Safe Mode. So I have prepared this handy guide which explains step-by-step how to uninstall Avast antivirus using Avast Uninstall Utility.

With Avast Uninstall Utility tool you can remove avast from your computer in Safe Mode OR Normal Mode

Download the Avast Uninstall Utility (avastclear.exe) using the download button above

Consider disconnecting your computer from the Internet to avoid any risk as you will be without the Avast protection during and after its removal

 

1. Uninstall Avast in Safe Mode (recommended)

- Run avastclear.exe >> click ‘Yes’ to restart the computer and boot into Safe Mode

 

 

- Select the Avast installation directory (if installed in the default directory you do not need to do this) + Select the software to uninstall >> Click Continue to Avast Clear to remove the software

 

 

- Restart the computer and complete the uninstall

 

 

 

 

2. Uninstall Avast in Normal Mode

- Open your Avast and go to ‘Settings‘ » ‘Troubleshooting‘ » un-check ‘Enable Avast self-defense module‘

 

 

- Turn off your Avast by going to systray, right-click on the Avast icon and go to ‘Avast shields control’ >> ‘Disable for 1 hour’

 

- Run the avastclear.exe and do the same steps as Safe Mode

- Restart the computer and complete the uninstall
